Texas Holdem Introduction and Rules

Texas Holdem is the most popular poker game played at online casinos. In fact, due to its rising popularity all over the world, you will be able to find at least one tournament each day on cable TV in the US. Even though you need to play this game with a lot of skill in order to master it, Holdem is easily learned. It looks complicated, but it is simple to learn the basics. This casino game is subtle and it is complex. At land casinos and even most online casinos, this game can be played with up to 9 or 10 players at each table.

Sometimes compared to stud poker, this casino game is really not at all the same. It tends to play a little faster than stud and there is a lot more action in this game, too.

In this section, we ill go over all the basics of this intriguing poker game. From the flop to the river, we will walk you through the same game that ids played at the World Series of Poker.

Texas Holdem Rules

In this casino game, 2 cards are dealt face-down to each player at the table, and a round of betting then takes place. On the first round of betting, players may either call or raise the blind bet. If not. you must fold your hand. Most online casinos and land casinos permit a bet and 3 or 4 more raises per betting round, with one exception - When only 2 players are in the game, there is typically no limit on the number of raises allowed. Online casinos will typically have some sort of cap involved with betting amounts per round.

When the first round of wagering is complete, three board or community cards are dealt. This is commonly known as the flop. These cards (and all other board/community cards) are turned up for all to see, obviously. The flop is followed by a round of betting. On this and every succeeding round, players ay check if no one has bet when it is their turn to do so. Now, if there is no bet, a player may check or bet. If there is a bet, players may fold , call, raise, or reraise.

Then, a fourth board or community card is dealt. This is commonly known as the turn. Then another round of betting takes place. After that round of betting is completed, the fifth and final board or community card id dealt. It is commonly referred to as the river.. After the river is exposed, the final round of betting takes place.

The best ranked five card poker hand using the player's two private cards and any three of the five board cards wins the hand.

See, it's that easy. Well, there are a few more complexities that we will be getting into further in order to get you going in an even better direction. Be sure to check out our poker section where you will find a lot more depth into this extremely popular online casino game.
