Poker Introduction And Rules

Currently, there are many variations to this wildly popular online casino game. Texas Holdem is the hottest of them all these days. In this section you will find many different pages containing useful information as to how to play this casino game online, at home or at land casinos.

In the past hundred years or so, poker has gone from a game played by fierce cowboys in the Wild West to a casino game played at online casinos all over the world. Even though this casino game has been around for a very long time, it recently has gained popularity again after fading into the sunset for awhile.

The rules haven't changed, just the players.

Once you have understood the ranking of poker hands, you will be able to better navigate yourself through the many games available. Nowadays, most poker games are available at just about all online casinos. Shop online casinos to find the game you are most interested in playing.

Hand Ranking

Below, we have listed the poker hand ranking from best to worst. Number one being the best ranking poker hand possible.

1. Royal Flush - This is an ace high straight flush.

2. Straight Flush - This is five cards of the same suit in sequential order.

3. Four of a Kind - This is four cards of the same rank. The highest ranking four of a kind will win the hand if there are two players (or more) holding four of a kind hands.

4. Full House - This is three cards of one rank (tree pair) and two cards of another rank (two Pair). The player with the highest ranking tree of a kind wins if two (or more) players have a full house.

5. Flush - This is when there are five cards of the same suit in one hand.

6. Straight - This is when you have a hand with five cards in sequential order.

7. Three of a Kind - This is when your hand contains three cards of the same ranking. If two (or more) players have three of a kind, the highest ranking pair wins the hand.

8. Two Pair - Two card of one rank, two cards of second rank in one hand. Having two different two of a kind in one hand.

9. One Pair - This is when your hand contains two cards of the same rank.

10. All five cards different ranks and different suits. Not a great hand to have. This hand is common when playing draw poker with no wild cards. If the highest ranking cards are the same rank (meaning you have a tie between 2 players) -the next highest card determines the winner and so on.
