many terms used by players when playing poker. Whether you are playing

The terms below are mostly associated with draw and basic poker

Action: This is the commonly used term to describe the total
amount of money bet over a period of time.
All-in: This is when you put all of your remaining chips
into the pot.
Ante: This is the contribution to the pot at the very beginning
of a hand of poker.
Bad beat: This is when you lose a strong hand that, statistically
speaking, you should have one.
Bet blind: This is when you make a bet without seeing the
cards first.
Blind: This is a required poker bet. It is made before any
cards are even dealt.
Bluff: This is when you raise having an inferior hand in
order to get the other players to fold their superior hands.
Bring-in: This is a forced bet in stud games.
Call: This is when you see or match a wager made by other
player.
Check: This is when you choose not to bet, with the option
to call or raise later in the betting round.
Check-raise: This is when you check and then raise in the
same round of betting. Some players also call this sandbagging.
Deuce: This is a two.
Drawing hand: This is a viable hand that needs further cards
to improve it.
Flush: This is five cards of the same suit.
Fold: This is when you drop out of a hand before it is over.
Four-flush: This is when you have 4 cards of the same suit
and you need just one more to complete your fluch/hand.
Full house: This is when your hand consists of three pair
and also two of a kind.
Inside straight: This is when you have a potential hand
that can be made into a straight by drawing one more card of a certain
rank.
Kicker: This is an unpaired card held in conjunction with
one or more pairs, it can be used to determine the winner between
two almost equal hands.
Low poker: This is when the lowest hand wins the pot. Some
players call this lowball.
