Poker Legends - Phil Hellmuth Jr.
He calls himself a poker brat and he is one of the most intriguing
poker players out there. Also controversial, this poker player can
go from playing so poorly to someone with intense ingenuity.
From Wisconsin, he started playing poker on a serious level when
he was at the University of Wisconsin. Clearly, he wanted to play
poker instead of studying.
At the age of 24 he won his first WSOP. To win the event he beat
two time defending champ Johnny Chan to do so. This made him the
youngest player to win the WSOP.
He got to where he is by making dramatic wins over big names. In
1991, he finished in the top 5 in all of the Hall of Fame events
at the Horseshoe. In 1993, he won 3 WSOP events. In 1995, he won
the Hall of Fame championship.
All of his wins are from playing Texas Holdem, too.
Today, he lives in the San Francisco area. You can find him playing
in most high-stakes events on the circiut.
