Meadows looks towards slots
November 7
Today, online casino players are reading about the new development
regarding slot machines. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,
the Meadows racetrack is moving in the direction towards slot machines.
The new proposed slot casino will be located at the Washington County
harness racing track.
The owner of the race track, Magna Entertainment Corp., has started
engineering work and bidding to move the horse paddock in order
to house the new slot casino. Online casino fans are excited that
their might be another land location for them to play slots at.
The Meadows race track is one of 7 existing or planned horse racing
tracks in the state of Pennsylvania vying for slots if pending laws
are put into place allowing the slot casinos.
The gaming board in Pennsylvania had hoped to give licenses for
all 7 tracks by March or April 2006. Currently, officials are now
fearing that the licensing will not take place until mid 2006. Hopefully
online casinos players will not have to wait too long in Pennsylvania
for a place to gamble on land if they choose to do so.
